Wix, website builder or done for you — what fits your business?
August 2026 · by Jaden & Lukas
First things first, because nobody believes us: website builders aren't bad. Wix, Jimdo, Squarespace — solid tools. The question isn't whether they're good. The question is whether they're made for you.
Who builders genuinely work for
Do you enjoy tinkering at the computer, have a weekend to spare and like getting to grips with a new program? Then a builder might be exactly right. Some people find that fun — honestly, then you don't need us.
The sum that isn't on the Wix page
The builder costs €15 a month. What it doesn't count:
- The evenings until the site is finished — realistically 20 to 40 hours the first time round.
- The moments when something won't work and there's nobody to ask but a help forum.
- The result: most builder sites look like — builder sites. Your customers notice, even if they couldn't say why.
- Moving out: switch provider later and you take nothing with you. The site stays in the builder.
Put an honest value on an hour of your time in the business. At 40 hours of building, the “free” builder beats any built website — just on your side of the ledger.
When having it done is the better choice
- Your time is better spent in the business than on building pages.
- You want a result that doesn't look like a template.
- You want a person you can call when something changes.
- You want the site to be yours — domain, content, all of it.
The real difference isn't the technology. It's whose time goes into it — and who is responsible when it breaks.
Our honest verdict
Tinkerers with time: get a builder, and enjoy it. Everyone else: get a quote. With us a built website starts at €199 — work out your price and compare it against your own evenings. Then you'll know.
